Coffee Morning Raises Over £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support!

Cake and Coffee was on everybody’s mind on Wednesday 27th September. Over 120 people visited our Queens Hall Café to enjoy the delicious cakes and friendly atmosphere at our Macmillan Coffee Morning.

There were games played, cake and coffee consumed and lots of laughter, alongside an amazing amount of money raised for life-changing charity.

In total, a staggering £551.84 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. We want to thank everybody who donated and came to support the event.

Joe Doody, our Sport and Inclusion Coordinator (and the Coffee Morning organiser), ran some games throughout the morning, including a very entertaining "two lies and a truth" quiz, alongside a nine-dart challenge. There were also prizes for best in show cake, team player and fastest selling cake. 

The results for these are as follows:

• Best in show = Helen Bloor 
• Fastest seller = Claire Dodd 
• Team Player = Rachael Beith 
• 2 Lies and 1 truth Quiz master = Will Lorenz 
• Highest 9 dart score = Jimmy M (Home Office) with 206!
